Co-Founder & CTO (Software) – Keeper | Berlin
We're not building another AI tool. We're building physical infrastructure for the real world. Smart luggage lockers that let travelers move freely through cities without being weighed down by their bags. It's a real problem, a real product, and we're looking for a real person to help us bring it to life.
Keeper is an early‑stage IoT startup based in Berlin. We've got our first funding secured, a founding team that genuinely believes in what we're building, and a market that's ready for it. What we're missing right now is the right person to own our entire software stack and grow with us as we scale.
What this role actually is
You'd be joining as Co-Founder and CTO, responsible for the entire software side of Keeper. In practice, that means:
* Designing and owning the overall software architecture from the ground up
* Building our mobile app (iOS & Android) and web platform
* Setting up and managing backend infrastructure, APIs, and cloud systems
* Integrating payment processing, real‑time availability tracking, and booking management
* Deciding when we need to grow the technical team, and having a real say in who joins it
* Communicating openly with the founding team on all technical decisions, no black boxes
The hardware side of our product is handled separately, so this role is purely software. A general understanding of IoT or hardware ecosystems is always a bonus, but not a requirement.
What we're looking for
* A strong full‑stack engineer who can make solid architecture decisions under early‑stage constraints
* Someone comfortable being the first and only technical voice in the room, for now
* A person who communicates transparently, raises concerns early, and doesn't operate in isolation
* Someone motivated by real‑world problems, not hype cycles or resume building
* Long‑term commitment to the vision, not just the early chapter of it
* Startup mindset: adaptable, resourceful, and genuinely excited about what we're building
