IT Security Analyst (m/f/d) – Security Operations Center Location: Celle | Position: Full-time or part-time | Start date: As soon as possible Who we are ZIB is the central IT service provider for the Lower Saxony judiciary—with approximately 18,000 IT workstations, 400 dedicated colleagues, and a clear mission to operate a modern, secure, and future-proof judicial IT infrastructure. Our Security Operations Center (SOC) is the first line of defense: We ensure that courts, public prosecutors’ offices, and correctional facilities can work securely – without having to worry about cyber threats. What to Expect In the SOC, you’re right in the thick of things, not just on the sidelines. Your day-to-day work revolves around two core areas: Incident Response & Security Monitoring You identify, analyze, and handle information security incidents—from initial reporting through the coordination of countermeasures to thorough documentation. You continuously monitor the security status of Lower Saxony’s judicial IT infrastructure and maintain a clear overview even during critical phases. You assess vulnerabilities in hardware and software and actively drive the implementation of mitigation measures. SIEM Development & Security Engineering You don’t just work with the SIEM—you actively help shape it: configuring, further developing, and optimizing security monitoring systems are part of your responsibilities. Together with operations and application teams, you develop measures to sustainably improve IT security. You analyze security-related metrics and summarize them in a way that is tailored to the target audience—whether for tech staff or executive management. In addition, you advise colleagues on information security topics and contribute to IT security projects. What you bring to the table Requirements: A completed degree in computer science or a related field (Bachelor’s/FH diploma) or IT training with relevant professional experience Good general knowledge of Linux and MS Windows Server, as well as MS Windows client operating systems, is required. Analytical thinking, structured work habits, and initiative Strong communication skills – you can clearly convey complex issues Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills German language skills at C1 level, English at B1 Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance check in accordance with § 7 (2) Nds.
