Akelius Languages Online gGmbH develops a language learning application.
Currently, the language course is available in eleven languages.
Swedish, English, Greek, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, and Polish.
UNICEF, UNHCR, SOS Children’s Villages and more non-governmental organizations worldwide use our language courses,
to provide kids and adults in need with language education.
key responsibilities
You will be based in our Berlin office in the triangle of Schöneberg, Kreuzberg and Mitte.
Your engagement with HR topics will be around 50 percent.
With your remaining capacity,
you will support other business units,
such as project management, marketing, distribution.
Your core responsibilities are to
* coordinate recruitment and hiring processes
* manage the full HR lifecycle, from creating work contracts for new employees, supporting staff with all HR matters, up to organizing the offboarding when someone is leaving us
* handle payroll accounting, Lohnabrechnung, in Sage for 50+ employees
* provide advice to management and team leads in all HR and labor law topics
* maintain HR-related statistics and reports
* support teams in other areas beyond HR
Depending on workload and project priorities,
additional tasks could also be part of this role.
who you are
We are looking for a highly organized, detailed-oriented specialist with professional experience in HR in Germany.
You have a university degree or relevant education in the area of HR.
For being able to start with us, your proactive attitude with a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality will be key.
Furthermore you bring
* excellent knowledge of labor law in Germany, particularly in the areas of payroll tax and social security legislation
* experience as an HR Manager in Germany
* proficiency in written and spoken English and German
* strong skills in payroll accounting with Sage HR
* a service-oriented mindset
* the ability to work independently and in a team, good communication and presentation skills
* problem-solving skills and cultural competency
* strong time management and organizational abilities
