Job Description Summary Job Description For Grid Solutions, HVDC & AC Substations represent a key differentiating technology and a central focus for the business, particularly in Europe where Transmission System Operators have very ambitious renewable energy targets. In this context, Grid Solutions is looking for a Project Engineering Manager who will oversee the technical coordination and management of technical topics of the entire HVDC or AC electrical substations. You will secure the technical co-ordination of all the associated design activities for the Electrical Substation, secure the delivery on time of the design documents maintain the planned design budget, implements design changes process, supervise and coordinate all engineering tasks required to execute the project, whether in house or by suppliers/subcontractors. The Project Engineering Manager will be accountable of the proper performance of the design in terms of engineering cost, deadlines, and quality on the complete Engineering scope of the Substation. You will coordinate and manage the global time schedule of engineering activities, follow-up engineering budgets, define the project design quality plan, ensure implementation of Engineering Management Handbook u2018EMHu2019 guidelines, supervise overall technical coordination between different work packages of Grid Complex large project. Your Tasks Responsible for issuing consolidation of provisional drawing list of the project or of your work package, integrating submission dates. Manage global time schedule of concerned engineering activities, check coherency of links between engineering activities and other project functions activities (procurement, construction, commissioning) and organize follow up of critical activities of the project or of your discipline. Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with your work package, put in place exchange interface sheets with partners, customer, and third-party contractors. Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality including Partner documents. For large & complex projects support Project Engineering Director and Project I&I manager in the engineering change management. Lead & coordinate design teams u2013 youu2019ll be supported by Primary, Secondary and Civil Designers. Follow the engineering budget and identify potential savings and highlight to the Project Manager all instances requiring additional budget. Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to the EMH procedures and per the project strategy. Manage scope or design changes & prepare related claims and VO to be approved by Project Engineering Director or Project Manager. Analyses customer technical requirements, prepare and or consolidate clause by clause analysis and ensure compliance to Customer requirements through Technical Queries, identify, track, manage potential change. Represent customer interests in the design decisions at Project Manageru2019s request. Validate design throughout customer acceptance. Ensure that Management of return status of project documentation internal or external (approved, comments, resubmit, rejected) is performed for your work package. Prepare or review technical specifications and supplieru2019s documents to enable procurement of materials and plant detailed design. Check effectiveness of design against delivery of contract requirements within project budget and look for global cost optimization in all design phase and mainly during basic design Your profile: Electrical Engineering degree level or equivalent education/experience Experience of Engineering activities as lead engineer in EPC type environment Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary teamu2019s context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries. Fluent in English and German or Polish. Knowledge of the Transmission or Distribution industry is essential. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Knowledge of Renewable Energy systems is beneficial. Knowledge of GIS systems is beneficial.
