Responsibilities:
1. Act as the Freudenberg Group’s subject matter expert in generative AI and physics-informed machine learning for materials formulation, discovery, and process design.
2. Develop and apply advanced data-driven and physics-based models to accelerate innovation in sustainable materials and next-generation mobility solutions.
3. Independently propose, lead, and defend project concepts in close collaboration with Freudenberg’s Business Groups.
4. Design and support experimental campaigns for model development, validation, and deployment.
5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across internal departments and external partners to deliver high-impact business solutions.
6. Communicate findings effectively through reports and presentations tailored to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
Qualifications:
7. PhD or equivalent qualification in materials science, chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
8. Minimum of 3 years of experience in computational materials design, either in industry or academia.
9. Strong background in materials informatics, cheminformatics, generative AI, and machine learning for atomistic simulations.
10. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Julia, or C/C++, and familiarity with databases and cloud platforms (e.g., SQL, MongoDB, Flask, Azure).
11. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
12. Knowledge of quantum computing is a plus.
13. International mindset and willingness to travel are advantageous.
