Position: Data Engineer
Join a technically-driven team focused on data-informed decision-making in fast-paced trading environments. Here, engineers are empowered to build systems they personally rely on — ensuring deep accountability and impact. We’re looking for someone who thrives on precision, speed, and elegant infrastructure. No endless meetings or shifting priorities — just focused work that directly influences outcomes.
What You’ll Enjoy
* Developing efficient, low-latency systems in C++ with a strong emphasis on reliability.
* Managing and querying large-scale, time-critical datasets using modern data warehousing tools like BigQuery.
* Attending to detail — from robust error handling to thoughtful naming conventions — because quality is non-negotiable.
* Working in a team that prioritizes humility, collaboration, and technical rigor.
* Taking full responsibility for your code — from architecture to deployment and beyond.
How You’ll Contribute
* Design and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant data pipelines using C++ and Python. Python is mandatory, C++ is just a bonus.
* Build scalable, maintainable data warehouse solutions using advanced SQL (e.g., user-defined functions, table-valued functions).
* Implement and deploy services using containerization (Docker), version control (Git), and CI/CD best practices.
* Use cloud-native technologies — such as S3, ECS, Lambda, and other AWS components — to ensure robust and elastic systems.
* Write clean, well-documented code that anticipates edge cases and failure modes.
* Contribute positively to a collaborative, high-standards team environment.
Bonus Points For
* Familiarity with short-term energy markets (e.g., day-ahead and intraday auctions, imbalance pricing).
* Understanding of relevant market data — including trades, order book updates, and weather forecasts.
* Knowledge of European energy exchanges (e.g., EPEX SPOT, Nord Pool, EEX).
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and cloud architecture best practices (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
* Background in pipeline orchestration and monitoring frameworks (e.g., Airflow, DBT, Grafana) or MLOps tooling.
* Programming skills in Go or Rust.
* Fluency in German.
Why Join Us
* Work in a deeply technical environment where your systems go live fast and are used directly in critical operations.
* Immediate feedback from both peers and real-world usage ensures continual improvement and learning.
* A culture that values autonomy, precision, and cooperative problem-solving.
