Senior Site Reliability Engineer - AWS
Choco provides a centralized platform connecting restaurants and suppliers. The result is better communication, simplified logistics, and - here comes the big one - less food waste. Our aim is to contribute to a transparent, sustainable and waste-free global food chain by 2030.
With technology at the core of our work, our engineers are driven by quality. Our AI based ordering app has already changed the game for thousands of restaurants and suppliers across the globe, but there is much more work to be done. And that’s where we need your help. Meet your team
You will be part of the Platform team and work with the engineers there to improve the productivity of the engineering team and the quality and reliability of our software and services. The Platform team owns all our infrastructure and enables our product teams to go fast without breaking things.
Engineering Manager:

What you will do
1. Design, build, and maintain the core infrastructure used by all of Choco’s engineering teams
2. Partner with engineering teams to ensure their work meets production standards
3. Lead on designing new pieces of infrastructure and implementing them together with the product teams
4. Debug production issues across the stack
5. Improve common operational challenges with tooling
6. Plan for the growth of Choco's infrastructure
Given the scale of Choco’s mission and the speed at which we are shipping and growing, you will be making a significant impact on our user base very quickly. You will get the opportunity and space to learn many new things and you will be able to lead large and significant projects that impact our entire engineering organization and through them the entire company.
Our tech stack in the Cloud Platform Squad
We are always working to improve our tech stack to fit our engineering needs and are currently on a mix of EKS/Kubernetes, Helm, Nest.js, RDS/Postgres, MSK/Kafka, AWS AppSync GraphQL, CDK, Datadog, Github Actions and some DynamoDB, Lambdas and SNS/SQS.
What you will need to have an impact with us
7. Experience as a DevOps / SRE / CI/CD engineer, you have a good understanding of processes, best practices, tooling in the field.
8. Experience working with AWS (Azure and Google Cloud a plus)
9. Experience working with CDK or Terraform
10. Experience in working with distributed systems
11. Experience coding in Typescript or some other programming language
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
13. Being a proactive learner and open mindedness
You will impress us even more if you have
14. Experience operating one of the core data systems that we use: RDS/Postgres, Elastic Cloud, MSK/Kafka
15. Experience in information security and DevSecOps
16. Experience in cost analysis and optimization
17. Experience in implementing observability and reliability guidelines
18. Experience in leading on incident resolution and debugging complex problems
