A leading European Aerospace and Satellite Systems Integrator is seeking a Satellite Systems Engineer Manager to provide both technical and organizational leadership across complex satellite missions - from early-phase design through to development, integration, and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of System Engineers through multiple project phases (B1 to D)
* Serve as the main technical interface with project management and external stakeholders
* Define and manage system-level requirements and associated verification strategies
* Evaluate and oversee system development and design, suggesting corrective actions where needed
* Establish and manage systems engineering processes across all relevant departments (SE, ENG, AIT, PA/QA, SCM)
* Coordinate and facilitate communication between functional teams and project stakeholders
* Organize regular project checkpoints and manage system-level cost and technical budgets
* Ensure timely delivery of system engineering outputs
* Support project planning, cost structures, and risk assessments
* Collaborate with payload and satellite engineering departments on system architecture
* Contribute to technology studies and product cost optimization efforts in the telecommunications domain
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, or a related discipline
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in the space industry, including technical or system leadership roles
* Strong background in system engineering across all project phases, including design, verification, and AIV/AIT
* Expertise in telecommunications satellite systems and space communication technologies
* Proactive mindset with a high level of self-motivation
* Ability to critically assess technical baselines and implement improvements
* Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
* Excellent command of English; proficiency in German is advantageous
