Facility Manager - Berlin - €125,000
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facility Manager to lead the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all critical infrastructure systems within our Berlin-based colocation data center.
In this key role, you will take full ownership of ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of facility operations, with a strong focus on maintaining high availability and compliance with industry standards.
You will be responsible for the performance and maintenance of essential systems such as HVAC, power distribution units (PDUs), electrical infrastructure, and support during construction and expansion projects. Your work will be vital to supporting uptime SLAs, driving energy efficiency, optimizing capacity, and mitigating risk across all facility operations.

Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in a mission-critical data center environment.
Oversee maintenance, testing, and emergency repairs of HVAC systems, electrical switchgear, PDUs, UPS systems, and fire suppression systems.
Lead a team of technicians and external service providers to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors for fit-outs, upgrades, and infrastructure expansions.
Monitor and optimize energy consumption, sustainability measures, and operational KPIs.
Develop and maintain SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs to ensure standardized procedures across all critical infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, environmental laws, and health & safety standards.
Participate in root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Maintain documentation and asset records for all systems under management.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience (5+ years) in facility or operations management within a colocation, data center, or critical infrastructure environment.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, PDUs, UPSs, generators, electrical distribution, and construction project coordination.
Technical background (e.g., degree or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facility Engineering).
Understanding of uptime standards and risk management in mission-critical environments.
Familiar with BMS/EMS/DCIM systems and industry best practices.
Fluent in German and proficient in English.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
