Role Purpose
As a Structured Cabling / Connectivity Project Manager, you will oversee the full life-cycle delivery of connectivity infrastructure projects — from pre-bid planning and coordination through to installation, testing, commissioning, and handover — ensuring compliance with quality, safety, commercial, and technical requirements. You will also act as the primary point of contact for customers, internal teams, and subcontractors throughout project delivery.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Leadership
* Lead and deliver structured cabling and connectivity projects within data centres, enterprise environments, or mission-critical facilities.
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate all project activities (design, procurement, installation, testing/fault-finding, commissioning).
* Oversee project performance against schedule, quality standards, budgets, and safety requirements.
Team & Stakeholder Management
* Manage and mentor project engineers, site teams, and subcontractors.
* Serve as the principal interface with clients and stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication and customer satisfaction.
* Report progress regularly via project documentation, risk logs, and financial reports.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
* Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and procedures on site.
* Maintain documentation for quality assurance, HSE, testing records, and final handover packs.
Commercial & Financial Awareness
* Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability.
* Contribute to bid activities, estimating, and proposal reviews.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in structured cabling, ICT infrastructure delivery, or connectivity project management in data centre or critical infrastructure environments.
* Proven experience managing structured cabling systems (copper & fibre), backbone networks, patching, and industry testing tools (e.g., Fluke, OTDR). (This is typical for structured cabling management roles — you can add from similar jobs if needed.)
* Strong project management skills, ideally with PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
* Excellent communication skills in English; German proficiency preferred or desirable.
* Commercial awareness, ability to manage P&L, costs, and contractor engagement.
* Strong leadership with the ability to motivate teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
Preferred / Advantageous
* Experience in data centre, mission-critical, enterprise IT infrastructure.
* Certifications in structured cabling, connectivity design, or data centre delivery (e.g., CDCPM, RCDD, CTPM, CNIDP).
* Knowledge of ISO, industry standards, and quality management systems.
