BALYO is hiring a Project Manager - key role based in Germany

As part of the reinforcement of our Delivery organization, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager. This is a central and strategic role, at the heart of customer relationships and project execution.
The position is based in Germany (remote possible depending on context) and involves daily collaboration with international teams.
Role objectives
As a Project Manager, you are responsible end-to-end for customer projects, from purchase order to Final Acceptance.
You are accountable for customer satisfaction while ensuring the achievement of both technical objectives (safety, performance, quality) and financial objectives (revenue, margin, cash).
You typically manage 3 to 5 projects in parallel, depending on size and complexity, and ensure that all teams involved follow BALYO processes, standards and operating procedures.
At BALYO, most Project Managers also manage a team of Field Engineers, who are key contributors to on-site commissioning and successful system implementation.
Key duties and responsibilities
* You manage customer projects from purchase order through robot installation and final project closure.
* You interact directly with customers and internally with all BALYO teams, including Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Service and Leadership.
* You understand and balance priorities between customers, partners and internal stakeholders, knowing when to escalate issues and when to control or defer them.
* You are empowered to take fast decisions to address critical project needs, coordinating with any relevant BALYO team.
* You lead the Field Engineers assigned to your projects and are ultimately responsible for the quality and performance of the system delivered on site, in line with contractual commitments.
BALYO Project Managers own their projects 360°
* Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, leveraging the lessons learned database
* Create and manage the project master plan and detailed work package schedules
* Prepare, adapt and secure sign-off of customer specifications in line with BALYO standards prior to system implementation
* Lead and prioritize Field Engineers’ activities, optimize travel and execution plans, and ensure strict process adherence
* Manage project budgets to secure revenue recognition, cash collection and gross margin protection
* Coordinate all internal project-related activities, including options development, robot manufacturing and validations
* Organize and manage installations, including Offsite Commissioning Tests and Site Acceptance Tests
* Prepare and adapt customer test plans based on risk management and system-specific requirements
* Build strong relationships with customers, partners and subcontractors, ensuring high customer satisfaction
* Ensure timely, proactive and transparent communication, including escalation when required
* Work with customers to negotiate and fine-tune project planning and execution phasing
* Manage deviations, cost or schedule impacts, Change Requests and related negotiations
* Capture learnings and actively drive process and organizational improvements where execution does not work “by design”
Ideal candidate profile
You are an engineering professional or equivalent, with at least 5 years of proven field project management experience, combined with at least 3 years in a technical role such as software development, mechanical engineering or system implementation.
You have a strong understanding of complex technologies and a high ability to rapidly acquire in-depth knowledge of both BALYO solutions and customer environments.
You bring solid technical skills in mechanics, electronics and/or industrial software.
You demonstrate leadership and influence, with the ability to operate in a collaborative, cross-functional and cross-cultural matrix organization, often under pressure. You have very strong communication skills and a proven ability to succeed in fast-paced technology environments. You are analytical, data-driven and able to identify root causes and define effective resolution paths.
You are a self-starter, autonomous and action-oriented: at BALYO, Project Managers propose, engage and execute rather than simply report issues.
Fluent English (written and spoken) is mandatory, in addition to your local language.
You are open and flexible to travel internationally to support projects worldwide.
Team management (depending on profile)
Depending on experience, maturity and local setup, you may manage a team of Field Engineers (up to 7 FTE), with responsibilities including:
* Setting and tracking individual objectives (OKR-based)
* Reviewing travel bookings, expense reports and vacation requests in strict compliance with the Global Travel Policy
* Mentoring and supporting Field Engineers both on-site and off-site
* Supporting and coordinating career development
