In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering innovative software solutions for substation automation. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, customer needs, and technical execution, ensuring our products meet market demands and contribute to the evolution of modern grid infrastructure.A typical day for the Product Owner of Substation Automation Software is a dynamic blend of strategic oversight and hands-on execution. Your morning often begins with a daily scrum with your agile development team, clarifying user stories for complex features like IEC 61850 implementations or cybersecurity requirements. Collaborate with partners globally: capture customer feedback on prototypes, address deployment challenges with the service team. You could be immersed in backlog grooming, meticulously prioritizing upcoming features and assessing technical feasibility with lead engineers, or preparing for an upcoming sprint review to showcase delivered value. Throughout the day, you'll dedicate time to continuous learning through market research on smart grid technologies and competitor analysis, while also fostering seamless integration points by syncing with other Product Owners within the broader Grid Automation Portfolio.How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog to align with the grid automation portfolio and company goals.
2. Serve as the primary connection between business collaborators and agile teams, providing technical advice to partners, internal teams and customers.
3. Translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives, gather and prioritize requirements, and define clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
4. Engage actively in agile ceremonies to guide development and clarify requirements.
5. Monitor progress, resolve blockers, validate features, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
6. Collaborate with other Product Owners for portfolio alignment and iterate on products based on post-launch feedback.
What You Bring
7. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or in a related technical field.
8. Long term experience with HMI/SCADA systems and substation automation tools (, WinCC, Zenon, SICAM PAS/A8000), with knowledge of multiple vendor solutions being a plus.
9. Understanding of cybersecurity in critical infrastructure and certifications in Agile/Product Ownership (, CSPO, PSPO).
10. Familiarity with grid automation, smart grid technologies, and current industry trends.
11. Experience working with Agile/Scrum frameworks, proven analytical capabilities, and adept communication skills with customers in technical and non-technical roles..
12. Proactive, accountable, fluent in English (German is a plus), and able to align technical work with strategic goals.
