Project Manager – BESS
Ready to help define the project management practices in battery storage (BESS) projects and really drive impact in them?
Greenstone are representing a well funded, fast growing battery energy storage developer with an ambitious roadmap in Germany, Brussels, and wider EMEA. Led by three highly experienced founders with extensive networks and a strong track record in renewable energy, the company is actively acquiring RTB (ready to build) projects to bolster their project pipeline for construction in 2026/2027.
What you will do?
* Lead and manage end to end construction of utility-scale BESS projects in Germany
* Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and development teams to ensure smooth project handovers
* Oversee site activities, ensuring compliance with German construction laws, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards (including DIN norms and VDE regulations)
* Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors
* Track project schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables
* Conduct site inspections, progress reviews, and quality checks
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, permits, and contracts
* Identify and mitigate risks while resolving on-site issues promptly
* Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during construction
* Support commissioning and handover activities
* Ensure compliance with Germany’s renewable energy regulations, including grid connection requirements and BNetzA standards
What you have achieved?
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or related field
* Minimum 5 years of project management experience in the energy or infrastructure sector, with at least 2 years in renewable projects
* Strong knowledge of German construction laws, permitting processes, and grid connection standards
* Proven track record managing utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects in Germany
* Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
* Proficient in MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar project management tools
