Hauptaufgaben
Performs routine and repetitive project development work on maintenance and repair projects, as well as alteration and new work not exceeding $25,000.
Takes measurements, makes rough sketches, calculates sizes, dimensions, quantities and related facts, makes rough cost estimate in accordance with given and calculated factors to define scope of work. Prepares detailed cost estimates of labor, material and equipment costs from brief statements of work requests and form design or working plans. Collects additional information through personal observation/inspection at the job site and/or through coordination with the requestor. Ensures that detailed estimates include all elements of costs involved in completion of work. Prepares sketches reflecting and working details and compiles lists of material. Interprets plans and sketches contained in detailed estimates for shop foremen, and works out details of modifications or additional work and recommends proper sequence of operations. Sets priorities of individual jobs and recommends that they are executed by contractor if local resources are determined to be inadequate to meet all work requirements. Prepares material requirements and labor cost estimates in compliance with organizational policies and procedures, ensuring that material lists reflect recommended substitutes for "hard-to-get" items. Coordinates with shop foremen and supply coordinator when doubt exists as to material requirements for special projects. Ensures that estimates of man-hours required for individual jobs are based on considerations of method of work, conditions prevailing, permanency of structures, location of work, urgency of requirement, and the like. Reviews changes to job orders for which estimates had previously been made in order to make adjustments. Reviews completed job cost records to compare and analyze expended man-hours and material costs with estimated costs to determine accuracy of estimate or the reason for variance. Develops work measurement standards based on data accumulated from such analyses.
Scheduling Duties involve serving as the work scheduling point of contact for in-house project work orders from approval to completion.
Tracks and stores master job folders throughout their lifecycle within the DPW and maintains the work status of all approved orders in GFEBS and other systems. Develops, updates, and coordinates monthly work schedules. Works with the Material Coordinator to coordinate and prioritize Bill of material (BOM) orders to ensure that materials are on hand when required. Updates Work Status Reports and schedules. Provides reports to, and coordinates schedules with management to reduce backlog of shop work orders. Updates and tracks quarterly work schedule from the Annual Work Plan (AWP) and adjusting for completed and emergent work.
As the work coordination Point of Contact (POC) for work requests and work-orders within the DPW, monitors work request progress within the Directorate, identifies delays, and formulates solutions with the Division Chief. Prioritizes work requests and determines whether work should be performed in-house or by contract and provides respective recommendations to the Division Chief.
Determines the appropriateness of work requests for government funding, and ensures legality, adequate details, and that no duplications of work requests are present. Cancels duplicated requests and notifies customers. Classifies and codes Work authorization documents based on established criteria and regulation. Determines whether work is reimbursable based on a fixed matrix and regulations and ensures that material and labor costs are monitored and reported. Coordinates, and works with labor shops and other stakeholders and conducts weekly Work Review meetings. Updates work request status and priority in GFEBS and SharePoint and completes their close-out.
Performs other duties as assigned.

E&T Level IVB and IVC: A Meister Diploma or Staatlich gepruefter Techniker in a trades or crafts field directly related to the position; no additional experience required.

Job Related Experience: Experience must be directly related to the area of specialization of the position and must be at a level of difficulty that compares to the grade of the position. Advanced journeyman trades and crafts experience that provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods and precedents is a prerequisite, e.g., experience as a technician, instructor, inspector, or mechanic that shows progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of the area of specialization of the position.

Es handelt sich um eine unbefristete Vollzeitstelle (38.5 Std. /Woche)./ This is a permanent full-time position (38.5 hrs /week).
Die Stelle kann in der Besoldungsgruppe C-5A oder in der vollen Leistungsstufe C-06 besetzt werden. Der Stelleninhaber kann nach Abschluss der erforderlichen Ausbildung und auf Empfehlung des Vorgesetzten ohne Ausschreibung in die nächsthöhere oder volle Leistungsstufe befördert werden./ Position may be filled at the C-5A or at the full performance level, C-06. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher or full performance level in accordance with regulatory requirements, upon completion of required training, and recommendation of supervisor.
