An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join a leading international engineering and construction business delivering some of Europe's most complex and technically demanding projects.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the MEP delivery of large-scale mission-critical developments, working on high-value projects from tender stage through to commissioning and handover. You will take ownership of MEP project delivery, managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes across programme, budget, quality and safety objectives.
Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will play a key leadership role on major construction projects, helping drive technical excellence, commercial performance and operational efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead the delivery of MEP packages from pre-construction through to project completion.
Manage project teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers to ensure successful execution of works.
Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans and delivery strategies.
Drive programme performance, quality standards and project objectives.
Support project closeout activities, commissioning processes and final handover to operations teams.
Lead design management activities across mechanical, electrical and public health systems.
Ensure technical submissions align with project requirements, budgets and programme constraints.
Review and assess technical proposals, tender submissions and contractor solutions.
Develop value engineering opportunities that improve project outcomes while maintaining technical integrity.
Ensure compliance with all relevant project specifications, standards and regulations.
Support bid preparation and tender activities for MEP works.
Manage technical evaluation of subcontractor and supplier bids.
Lead negotiations with subcontractors and specialist vendors.
Ensure procurement activities align with programme requirements and project objectives.
Review contracts and manage associated technical and commercial risks.
Act as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
Build strong relationships across delivery teams, consultants and supply chain partners.
Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular project updates.
Ensure project information is effectively communicated throughout the project team.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets and reporting processes.
Implement risk and opportunity management procedures across project delivery.
Establish early warning systems to identify and mitigate potential project issues.
Ensure project quality standards and management processes are maintained throughout delivery.
Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
Professional accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
7–10 years' experience within MEP project management.
Minimum 3–5 years operating in a Senior Project Manager capacity.
Proven track record delivering large-scale MEP packages from tender through to handover.
Experience working on complex construction projects within sectors such as data centres, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, logistics, industrial or mission-critical facilities.
Strong experience managing subcontractors, consultants and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Strong understanding of MEP design management and technical coordination.
Experience undertaking technical bid evaluations and tender assessments.
Knowledge of procurement processes, contract management and commercial negotiations.
Experience developing value engineering solutions and identifying efficiencies.
Strong understanding of project controls, programme management and budget management.
Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project and BIM-related platforms.
