Hazardous Waste Project Manager
The Hazardous/Regulated Waste Management Services Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of hazardous and regulated waste management operations under assigned contracts or facility programs. This position ensures full regulatory compliance, financial performance, client satisfaction, and safe execution of services in accordance with federal, state, local and host nation requirements.
The Project Manager serves as the primary contract representative and liaison with regulatory agencies as well as applicable state environmental and health departments.

Hazardous Waste Project Manager Responsibilities Include:
* Serve as primary point of contact for hazardous and regulated waste management contracts.
* Manage performance in accordance with contract scope, performance work statements (PWS).
* Develop and maintain project schedules, staffing plans, and compliance calendars.
* Oversee subcontractors and Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs).
* Ensure timely waste pickup, profiling, shipping, and disposal.
* Ensure compliance with the host nation regulations DoD requirements.
* Oversee hazardous waste manifesting, land disposal restriction (LDR) documentation, waste profiling, and reporting.
* Conduct internal compliance audits and prepare for regulatory inspections.
* Manage incident reporting, spill response coordination, and corrective actions.
* Ensure waste is properly characterized (hazardous, universal, pharmaceutical, medical, non-hazardous industrial, etc.).
* Manage project budgets, billing, and invoicing.
* Track waste volumes, disposal costs, and profit margins.
* Develop cost controls and find operational efficiencies.
* Prepare financial forecasts and performance reports for executive leadership or contracting officers.
* Supervise site leads and hazardous waste handlers.
* Ensure all employees maintain required certifications (e.g., 40-hour HAZWOPER, DOT HazMat).
* Conduct performance reviews and implement training plans.
* Lead safety meetings and enforce PPE and safety program adherence.
* Provide regular updates to the Program Manager for updating clients and contracting officers.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports.
* Support proposal development, contract modifications, and option-year negotiations.
* Represent the company during regulatory inspections or audits.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Hazardous Waste Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Public Health, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
* 5-8+ years of experience in hazardous or regulated waste management.
* 3+ years of project management or supervisory experience.
* Strong working knowledge of hazardous waste codes, hazardous materials classifications, and waste manifesting.
* Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (or European equivalent) with refresher.
* DOT Hazardous Materials Training certification.
* Demonstrated experience managing budgets and contract performance.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project tracking systems.
* Must have valid US passport.
* Fluent in both German and English
* Ability to submit all written project documentation in English.
* Combination of office and field/industrial settings.
* Based in Germany
* Will require facility inspections, warehouse operations oversight, or site visits.
* Potential exposure to hazardous materials (with required PPE).
* Regular travel required to inspect/audit work locations and operations.
