Senior Account Manager - Performance Products

At Huntsman we’re currently seeking an ambitious and self-motivated Senior Account Manager (m/f/d) with a strong background in the specialty chemicals sector to lead account management and drive business development for our Performance Products division with focus towards Ethylene Amines, Performance Amines and Maleic Anhydride across Europe.

This is a full‑time, permanent, home‑based role located in Germany. You will report to the Sales Manager Europe and will be responsible for managing and expanding our market presence, achieving growth objectives across the European region, and managing several global key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Account Manager Europe, you will:

1. Manage and expand a portfolio of customers across Europe, ensuring that financial and commercial growth targets are met. This includes implementing and delivering individual customer financial plans within agreed commercial and marketing targets.

2. Lead global and cross‑functional key account teams to drive profitable business growth.

3. Identify and develop new business opportunities and partnerships with key customers in the Fuel & Lubes, Coatings & Adhesives, Construction, Automotive, Paper, and Water Treatment segments.

4. Manage customer opportunities by building and following up on product introductions, ensuring timely execution and growth.

5. Negotiate sales contracts, terms and conditions in line with relevant Huntsman’s regulations and procedures.

6. Collaborate with Marketing and Technical departments to develop and maintain a high level of market intelligence within the component sector.

7. Establish a high standard of market intelligence for the HPP market in your region, with a particular focus on reviewing market share, product penetration, competitor portfolios, and competitive positioning.

Experiences and Competencies:

What we are looking for:

8. Degree‑qualified, with more than ten years of relevant experience in both account management and new business development within the chemicals sector.

9. Industry and market knowledge in Fuel & Lubes, Coatings & Adhesives, Construction, Automotive, Paper, and Water Treatment segments. Additionally, as a plus: active network among key fuel and lubricant additive producers, and strong understanding of the value chain and OEM specifications.

10. Fluency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.

11. Strong communicator with proven account, business development and contract negotiation skills.

12. Highly motivated and adaptable, with the ability to contribute to an organization focused on delivering valuable results and continuous improvement.

13. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to interact across teams and organizational levels.

14. Willingness to travel within the region (approximately 50%).
