Data Center / Facilities Manager
Nr Mainz - Hybrid role
We are currently seeking a Data Center / Facilities Manager to lead and manage the operational and strategic management of critical data centre infrastructure.
The role involves acting as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring reliable 24/7 operations, and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will have full responsibility for all services provided at the site, including managing employees, subcontractors, budgets (Opex/Capex), and ensuring compliance with occupational safety, environmental protection, quality management, and social standards.
The role also includes P&L accountability and the identification of new business opportunities within existing accounts. You will lead a technical team in a dynamic environment, driving sales growth of data centre products and services while collaborating closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions aligned with client business goals. Fluency in German and English is essential.
Skills
* Proven experience in operational and strategic management of critical infrastructures (data centres, hospitals, etc.)
* Strong customer relationship and account management skills
* P&L responsibility experience in Managed Services or similar environments
* Leadership and personnel management, including team development and corporate culture
* Knowledge of occupational safety laws and QHSE standards
* Facility Management, Project Management, or Data Center Management expertise
* Commercial acumen with strong financial understanding
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
* Fluent German and English (spoken and written)
* Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
Software/Tools
* Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
* Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Facility management and project management software (specific tools may vary)
Certifications & Standards
* Relevant commercial and/or technical qualifications
* Knowledge of occupational safety and environmental regulations
* Certifications related to Facility Management, Data Center Operations, or Project Management are advantageous
