The Institute for Factory Automation and Logistics (IFA) at Leibniz University Hannover is a leading institute for research into organizational processes and logistical relationships in industrial production. Working in small, self-organized teams, we investigate the fundamental principles of industrial production processes. Through close collaboration with national and international industrial companies, we develop pioneering methods for planning, controlling, and organizing the production systems of tomorrow.
The Institute for Factory Automation and Logistics is seeking to fill the following position as soon as possible: Research Assistant (PhD position) in the Production Management research group – “AI and Data Analytics” (salary grade 13 TV-L, 100%)
The position is limited to 3 years, with the possibility of extension.
Your position at a glance
We offer you the opportunity to prepare for your doctorate in challenging research and industry projects. The thematic focus is on "AI and Data Analytics". The Production Management group focuses on developing innovative methods for planning, managing, and controlling processes in industrial and circular supply chains.
Who are we looking for?
The prerequisite for employment is a completed university degree, preferably in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering.
Furthermore, we expect the following qualifications:
* above-average academic performance
* independent and professional work ethic as well as a high degree of initiative
* strong commitment, flexibility, communication skills and teamwork
* Excellent communication skills, fluent German and very good English skills are essential; international experience is desirable.
* Interest in scientific work, doctoral studies, advising industrial companies, and preparing and conducting university teaching.
* Excellent computer skills and sound programming knowledge (required: Python or other programming languages for analyzing large datasets)
* Prior experience in the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods in industrial fields is desirable.
* Prior experience in the processing, analysis and interpretation of large, heterogeneous datasets
