The Account Manager's main responsibility will be to drive sales of automation systems within the power generation, transmission, and distribution sectors throughout the DACH region, with an emphasis on the German market. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of industrial automation technologies and the local power market, including Renewables, as well as a proven ability to manage key accounts, build relationships, and successfully navigate complex sales cycles.
This position is engaged in all sales phases - from cold sell calls to contractual awards, and the handover of such to the project execution and delivery organization.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* To identify and develop new business opportunities in the power generation & distribution sector, managing the full sales cycle from lead to contract closure.
* To grow and manage existing customer accounts, meeting or exceeding regional sales/bookings targets.
* To build and coordinate sales pursuit teams with Business Units and subject matter experts to deliver accurate and timely quotations.
* To provide accurate order forecasting (POR, S&OP, budgets, reviews) using Emerson business intelligence systems.
* To translate customer requirements into automation solution offers, prepare proposals, demos, and technical presentations.
* To act as the primary contact for assigned accounts, ensuring strong relationships, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.
* To represent Emerson at industry events, monitor market trends/competitors, and expand the client base.
* To ensure sales excellence through accurate data management in CRM and other business systems.
* To continuously develop technical and commercial knowledge to perform at the highest standard.
* To promote a customer-first mentality and conduct business ethically in line with Emerson's policies.

For This Role, You Will Need:
* Power industry fluency and application knowledge are mandatory.
* Proven track record of direct selling in a complex technical and commercial sales environment.
* Good communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing - German as well as English fluency required.
* Ability and willingness to travel (DACH-region) to fulfil duties of the role, expected ~50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
* Degree level in a field like Automation/Electrical Engineering (B.Sc. or higher) or equivalent experience.
* Experience in developing successful relationships internally and externally, multi-functionally, within a matrix organization.
