Sr. Sales Manager / Director of Sales for a luxury Oceanfront resort in East Africa (Must have EU citizenship / On-Property Position / Extensive European Travel Required) This is an outstanding opportunity to represent one of East Africa’s most beautiful oceanfront luxury resorts and to shape its growth within key international markets. The role offers significant autonomy, strategic influence, and the opportunity to work with an exceptional leadership team in a distinctive destination. Our client is an exceptional oceanfront luxury resort in East Africa, offering an elevated experience for discerning international leisure travelers. The resort features refined accommodations, restaurants and bars, golf facilities, and curated recreational experiences designed to deliver relaxation, recreation, and understated elegance. Catering to sophisticated global guests, the property blends natural beauty with world‑class service, positioning itself as one of the region’s premier luxury destinations. Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results‑driven Senior Sales Manager / Director of Sales to lead and expand the resort’s international leisure market presence, with particular focus on Europe. This is an on‑property leadership role requiring extensive travel throughout Europe. The position is not remote. The successful candidate will be an EU national with substantial luxury hospitality sales experience and a proven ability to drive revenue growth in competitive international markets. East Africa experience is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive international sales strategies aligned with revenue and brand positioning objectives. Drive business from key European leisure markets and international source markets. Identify and cultivate high‑value partnerships with luxury tour operators, travel designers, wholesalers, golf tour operators, and high‑end leisure agencies. Position the resort competitively within the luxury segment while maintaining rate integrity. Market Development & Representation Represent the resort at international trade shows, roadshows, and luxury travel exhibitions. Conduct regular sales missions across Europe and other key markets. Maintain strong relationships with top‑tier travel partners and industry stakeholders. Expand presence within luxury consortia and preferred partner networks. Revenue & Performance Management Achieve and exceed annual revenue targets and KPIs. Collaborate closely with Revenue Management and Marketing teams to ensure optimal pricing and promotional strategies. Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and demand shifts to adapt strategy accordingly. Prepare sales forecasts, production reports, and strategic plans. Work closely with on‑property leadership to align sales strategy with operational excellence. Foster a high‑performance sales culture driven by accountability and results. Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistent luxury positioning across all markets. Candidate Profile Mandatory Requirements EU citizen (required due to extensive European travel). Minimum 6–8 years of progressive sales leadership experience within luxury or deluxe international hotels/resorts. Proven track record in European and international leisure markets. Strong experience within international hotel groups. Stable career history demonstrating professional growth and consistent performance. Willingness to be based on property in East Africa with frequent European travel. Preferred Experience Prior professional experience in East Africa or comparable remote luxury destinations. Experience selling golf resorts and destination‑led leisure properties. Established portfolio of European luxury travel contacts.
