The project:

Conversion of an existing clients building to a 1DC which stores large cases and pre-sorts upstream of our core Fulfillment Centers

Scope: Storage pick tower modification, mechanical handling equipment (conveyance, sortation & vision systems) waste systems. Includes PLC based automation and link to the clients warehouse management system Phases

• Coordination of vendor access and activities on an active clients warehouse
• Supervision of pick tower modification and MHE installation within a construction environment
• Testing of the MHE to the clients standards proving safety, functionality and throughput
• Handover to our internal operations and maintenance teams

The role:

A senior level role. The project manager will lead the project autonomously and report to a program manager based remotely in EU. They will coordinate assistance from other sites for peak work such as testing

• Lead all onsite works
• Coordination of racking and MHE suppliers with construction to ensure safe and efficient installation
• Comply with German Safety regulations and assist vendors on documentation provision and management of Avetta
• Support commissioning of MHE and lead testing to ensure systems handle full range of products at design speeds
• Fault finding and desnagging
• Track project progress, focus on the critical path and ensure a Go-Live to schedule
• Project reporting

Skills/experience:

• Engineering or technical degree level
• Knowledge of German health and safety CDM, CE machine directive compliance
• Large MHE or process line installation
• Mechanical and controls fault finding and maintenance set-up
• Able to communicate effectively to multiple levels (German and English)
