Join Boehringer Ingelheim as Category Manager for MICE & Transient Travel, where you’ll play a key role in shaping how we source and manage external partners in these critical categories. You will lead global sourcing activities for the Transient Travel and MICE categories, applying strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement to generate value.Execute global RFPs and negotiate complex, high-value contracts to secure competitive terms and reliable service delivery.In close collaboration with internal stakeholders, define requirements, select suppliers, and ensure sourcing solutions meet business needs.Manage supplier relationships, identify new partners, evaluate performance, and ensure strategic alignment.Assess risks and work with local teams to mitigate potential supply disruptions and ensure business continuity.Support global implementation projects, align with cross-functional teams and strategic suppliers, and drive continuous improvement.Contribute to benchmarking activities and integrate stakeholder feedback into sourcing strategies. RequirementsBachelor\'s or master\'s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Travel Management or a related field; equivalent professional experience in global category management within the pharmaceutical industry will also be considered.Several years of proven work experience in global category management, preferably in travel and/or MICE procurement (e.g., airlines, TMCs, hotels, event logistics).Profound knowledge in sourcing methodologies including demand management, market and supplier analysis, compliance, risk management, innovation and contract negotiation.Deep understanding of TMC operations and the strategic connection between transient travel and MICE, including legal expertise in contract law (preferably German law of obligations).Hands-on experience with travel and event platforms such as Concur, GDS systems, Cvent or Lanyon.Strong relationship management skills combined with a motivated, open-minded and persuasive personality and proven ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional, and intercultural teams.Fluent in English in writing and speaking; German or other languages are a plus.
