KG Organization Transformation of Industry Business Unit Industrial Steam Turbines & Generators Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As Project Manager for DED‑Arc Additive Manufacturing Technology Development, you will drive the industrialization and future technological roadmap of wire‑arc additive manufacturing for the Steam Turbine & Generator (STG) business. Your primary focus will be the qualification of components and materials, combined with the advancement of DED‑Arc processes, supporting the transformation toward modern, flexible and digitally enabled manufacturing.You will strengthen the existing team by adding expertise in welding technology, materials science, design for additive manufacturing, quality management, automation, and standardization. In addition, you will build strategic research partnerships to accelerate innovation.How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Lead development projects to advance DED‑Arc Additive Manufacturing for turbine and generator components
2. Drive technology readiness (TRL) progression from lab development to industrial deployment
3. Plan, execute, and document material qualification programs according to internal standards, customer requirements, and international norms
4. Establish standardized qualification routes for parts with varying complexity and operational requirements
5. Collaborate closely with laboratories, test facilities, certification bodies, and internal quality teams as well as act as a technical leader, promoting knowledge-sharing, modern working methods, and cross-disciplinary collaboration
6. Build and maintain strong partnerships with universities, research institutes, technology suppliers, and collaborative networks
What You Bring
7. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Production Engineering, or equivalent technical field
8. Professional experience in Additive Manufacturing, preferably DED‑Arc/WAAM or comparable welding processes
9. Strong understanding of materials behavior, welding metallurgy, automation, and qualification procedures
10. Very good knowledge in the field of project management and corresponding to several years of experience in interdisciplinary research and development projects
11. Strong communication skills, proactive leadership style, and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
12. Passion for innovation and technology development
13. Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
