Sales Manager Europe (UK & Spain) / Taste & Texture Platform

Ohly is the third largest yeast extract producer in the world with sites in Germany and the USA. We develop, produce and deliver high-quality yeast-based flavours and specialty powders. Ohly is part of the $17.6bn turnover Associated British Food (ABF) Group. ABF is a broad portfolio of businesses which includes Primark, Ovaltine, Twinings, AB Enzymes, and is the world’s second largest producer of both sugar and baker’s yeast.

ABF takes a long-term perspective on investment and performance, and stimulates entrepreneurship by giving high degrees of autonomy to operational businesses. This means that decisions are taken as close as possible to their point of impact allowing teams the freedom to act, in order to be successfully flexible and fast. ABF invests a great deal in selecting and developing the right people for Ohly and the broader ABF group of companies.

We are seeking a motivated Sales Manager Europe (UK & Spain) / Taste & Texture Platform to position the company for future growth; acquire new business at existing accounts and new accounts through the understanding of key customer needs; support customers with or without distributors in an efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner; and investigate and solve customer technical challenges with yeast derivatives and culinary powders.

In this exciting role you will:

1. Build momentum with new and existing food accounts, enrolling customersto meet or exceed revenue, margin, and relationship engagement depth.
2. Identify and develop customerrelationship maps to build sustainable and profitable business.
3. Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline of new business including both new accounts not doing business with Ohly as well as new businessat existing assignedaccounts.
4. Close new business dealsby coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
5. Lead the development of a business development plan including how to systematically acquirenew customers and grow sales in targetedmarket segments.
6. Develop, document, and implement account plans & strategies in a disciplined and consistent manner.
7. Complete monthly sales forecastand annual sales budget includingboth volume and pricing. Provide a monthly analysis of variance +/- from budget / forecast.
8. Work with other Ohly team membersto resolve customerissues, answer questions, or provide guidance and support.
9. Coordinate with other team members to create and implement capabilities presentations, technical demonstrations, and presentations for customers that meet customer satisfaction and demonstrate technical knowledge and expertise.
10. Develop financial businesscase scenarios for new products or new applications to achieve new business growth and meet customer requirements.
11. Achieve growth targets for salesof new products & new applications.
12. Manage direct customers, distributors, and global accounts within the food sector (focus on UK and Spain).
13. Traveling is required for this position. Expect up to 50% of time spent traveling to customer locations for face-to-face contact.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

14. Exhibit demonstrated selling skillsincluding but not limited to closing, negotiation, prospecting, sales planning, and consultative selling.
15. Demonstrate tacticsto expand accountrelationship depth and influence.
16. Demonstrated marketand technical knowledge, presentation skills, professionalism, and financially minded.
17. Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
18. Ability to manage multipletasks simultaneously.
19. High energy, positive attitude, goal oriented, self-starter, motivated, disciplined.
20. Proven experience developing new business at both existingand new accounts.
21. Degreed in food discipline or business-related field.
22. Strong oral and writtencommunication skills.
23. Strong interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals at all organization levels.
24. Demonstrated team player with planning, organization, and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
25. Business fluent in English and Spanish.
26. Strong personal computer skills including Outlook,Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, MS Teams.
27. Up to 50% travel required.

Nice to have:

28. 10+ years of sales or businessdevelopment experience in the food ingredient industry, preferably in savory ingredients, flavors, and extracts.
29. Advanced Degree or equivalent in food scienceor related discipline.
30. Relevant experience with food ingredient companies (either working for or calling on).
31. Knowledge or experience sellingfood ingredients, with special recognition for yeast extracts, flavor enhancers, and flavor & seasonings.
32. Fluent in German.
