Predevelopment Project Manager (m/f/d)
In the predevelopment team, working with ESA and other partners on externally funded projects, we are defining, studying, and planning for the development of future technologies, systems, engines, and vehicles. Our international and agile team is searching for a motivated person to join our versatile, international team and to take charge of project management and technical writing. Your Tasks
1. Manage external funded projects, overseeing time, cost, quality, and risk while ensuring alignment with the other departments, budget, and milestone targets
2. Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress, documenting key milestones, and providing updates through reports and presentations
3. Lead the work and coordination between RFA internal teams and partners for external funded projects, ensuring effective communication between internal and external stakeholders
4. Support the Finance Departmenet preparing financial reporting for external funded projects
5. Take charge of technical writing and preparing project deliverables with external customers ( ESA, governmental institutions) on-time, on-quality and on-budget
6. Contribute to the technical work of the predevelopment team, including the creation of development roadmaps for future vehicles and technologies, mission and technical requirements, design studies and trade-offs, creation of system architectures, etc.
7. Contribute to proposal writing for funded projects
Your Qualifications
8. Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Aerospace, Space Engineering or similar discipline
9. Work experience in project management in the space industry is a plus
10. Knowledge of European/German/Bavarian funding programs and proposal processes (FLPP, ELC, RaFo-Bayern, etc.) is a plus
11. Great listener that is able to simultaneously push the team forward
12. Able to thrive in uncertainty and provide organization and structure where needed
13. Strong technical affinity and enthusiasm for New Space Strong writing and formatting skills with excellent command of Microsoft Office
14. Business-fluent English, both spoken and written (all day-to-day activities are conducted in English)
15. German fluency is highly desirable due to the need for communication with external German stakeholders
16. Strong time management, a team-player attitude, and emotional intelligence
17. Demonstrated independence, proactivity, and structured approach to work
18. Strong cost and risk awareness with a business-oriented mindset
