Senior Data Product Manager – Emma – The Sleep Company

Ready to lead, disrupt and reinvent the sleep industry? We are Emma – The Sleep Company, founded in 2015. We are the world’s largest direct‑to‑consumer sleep brand, available in over 35 countries with more than 25 stores across Europe. Recommended by leading consumer associations in EMEA, APAC, and the Americas, we develop the best sleep comfort products that help customers awaken their best every day.

At Emma, we are a community of smart, driven people united by a strong culture of collaboration, teamwork, and knowledge sharing. We think big, take ownership, and are empowered to drive meaningful impact. Through hands‑on experience, mentorship, and continuous learning, we grow our own careers and the lives of our customers. With Emmies from over 60 nationalities and offices across multiple regions, our diverse perspectives enrich our workplace culture. Ready to shape the future of sleep with us? Let’s make it happen!

As part of an empowered data product team, you will develop, operate, and continuously improve our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities to drive business impact. You will collaborate with data engineers, analytics engineers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure that data products deliver meaningful value and drive the organization’s strategy forward.

What you'll do

* Define and execute the vision for our data products, ensuring they support strategic business objectives across the organization.
* Lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of data products, from discovery to delivery, ensuring scalability, usability, and long‑term value.
* Gather and distill requirements from users and stakeholders, translating them into a clear vision and strategy.
* Work with partners to maintain and refine the product roadmap, ensuring backlog prioritisation reflects business priorities, user needs, and technical considerations.
* Proactively identify and evaluate business opportunities that can benefit from data.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, managing expectations, providing transparency into the roadmap, and ensuring alignment on objectives and outcomes.
* Drive the product discovery process, identifying the right problems to solve and collaborating with engineering, analytics, and business teams on solutions.
* Maintain a well‑prioritized roadmap with clear milestones, delivering high‑impact data features and capabilities.
* Continuously improve data products by embracing iterative delivery, collecting feedback, measuring performance, and refining both roadmap and features.

What we're looking for

* Proven experience: 5+ years in data product management or a similar product role, with hands‑on exposure to working directly with users, understanding their needs, and helping them get the most out of data models and reporting tools.
* Product discovery mindset: Strong background in gathering and distilling requirements from users, validating hypotheses, and translating ambiguous needs into clear product definitions.
* Technical fluency: Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and collaborate closely with data engineers and analysts. Familiarity with key data warehouse concepts, data queries, and BI/reporting tools such as Tableau.
* Data‑driven decision‑making: Expertise in leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to inform priorities and measure success.
* Outstanding communication: Ability to simplify complex data concepts for technical and non‑technical stakeholders alike.
* Data strategy expertise: Understanding of data infrastructure, analytics, governance, and building data products that drive business value.
* Collaboration: Demonstrated experience coordinating cross‑functional teams, influencing without authority, and driving alignment across business, engineering, analytics engineering and analytics teams.
* Adaptability: Thrive in highly dynamic, uncertain, and fast‑paced environments, embracing agility and change.
* Entrepreneurial mindset: Driven by impact and outcomes rather than outputs. Proactively identify new opportunities, challenge assumptions, and shape the evolution of our data capabilities.
* Language proficiency: Professional‑level Business English is required.

What we offer

* Maturing Scale‑Up: Part of the 13–20% of start‑ups that transition to scale‑up. A rare stage where systems are refined without losing agility.
* Empowerment to Impact: Every Emmie owns part of our success with accountability, seeing and owning impact.
* Growth & Learning Journey: 70/20/10 model – 70% on the job, 20% from others, 10% structured training. Training and coaching to get you to the top of your game.
* Emma‑zing Community: We hire selectively, working with smart, collaborative people who care deeply.
* Next Level Global: 60+ nationalities across 4 offices, global collaboration across cultures, perspectives, and time zones.
* Flexibility: Remote work policy allows great flexibility. Please note the role requires being based in Portugal or Germany.

Become an Emmie

Emma is transforming the world of sleep – and we want the highest‑performing people to help us pull it off. We want you, but only if you're willing to go all in: question, disrupt, innovate, and create from the ground up.

We proudly celebrate diversity. We are an equal‑opportunity employer committed to promoting inclusion in our workplace. We consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, ethnic origin, religion or belief, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or age.
