Peripherals DACH Category Manager (M-F-D) Description - The Peripherals DACH Category Manager is responsible for end-to-end product line management and for driving the growth and profitability of the HP Peripherals product portfolio in the DACH Region. This role develops category business plans and growth strategies and ensures their successful execution by working closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. marketing, sales, finance). The Category Manager monitors key performance indicators and uses data-driven insights (including customer feedback and sales metrics) to identify opportunities for improvement. They maintain a deep understanding of the product categories, business management practices, and sales channel challenges/strategies to inform decision-making. Additionally, the role involves full product line ownership (P&L and quota) for a substantial portion of the portfolio, and building strong relationships with the sales force and external partners to champion the category in the market. Owns the Peripherals category business plan – and its sales and marketing implementation across different routes to market Deep understanding of the category product, business management and sales challenges and strategies. Manage the 4P strategy (Product, Price, Place, Promo) and being accountable for efficient resource deployment, profitable target achievement and plans execution for the HP Peripherals product lines. Managing the detailed and executive engagement of the business with both the Central category team and Sales team. Creating 1-year and 3-year regional plans to align with key internal stakeholders Presenting the progress towards goals and help needed in regular forums Effectively inspiring, coaching and motivating the cross-functional team to exceed Budget unit, revenue, and margin goals. Product line and quota responsibility for the Peripherals product range Responsible for accurate forecasting and business management across a number of metrics (revenue, share, margin) Ensure availability in product line-ups and responsiveness to dynamically changing seasonal requirements and competitive market pressures. Possessing product and go-to-market expertise and defending the benefits in front of customers or partners Launching profitable, Time-to-Market product roadmaps and managing life cycle through End-of-Life. Constantly monitoring the competition's landscape and quickly assessing areas of weakness and opportunities. Driving implementation of DACH customer requirements into our product roadmaps Aligning the product roadmap and 4P plan between retail, partner landscape and the hp.com team Developing the framework for success with commercial partners and End user customers Conduct existing pipeline reviews with the sales team and identify opportunities to add hybrid systems – upsell to full portfolio. Developing and executing B2B account-based marketing campaigns for different partner sets (distribution, partners, CEP) Promote and raise the profile of the peripherals offerings, ensuring that the company achieves positive brand equity and captures market/mind share. Qualifications Education: A four-year Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Marketing, Sales Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and substantial relevant work experience can also be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Work Experience: Typically 3–5 years of professional experience in roles such as category management, product/brand management, or P&L management within a relevant industry. This experience should include direct involvement in driving business results (e.g. managing a product line or business segment, contributing to sales growth, etc.). Experience specifically in the commercial products sector or technology/IT industry is highly beneficial. Strategic & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities and strategic thinking skills are required. You should be comfortable working with business data (sales figures, market research, KPIs) to derive insights and make informed decisions. The role demands the ability to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and formulate strategies based on quantitative analysis. A data-driven mindset and proficiency with analytical tools or Excel are expected. Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are essential, as this role interfaces with many stakeholders. You must be able to clearly articulate category plans and results to different audiences (e.g. sales teams, management, partners). Strong cross-functional collaboration skills are required to work effectively with internal teams in marketing, finance, and sales. The ability to influence without direct authority, negotiate priorities, and build consensus is key. Fluent business-level English is required (additional local language proficiency is a plus in communications with local partners) Results Orientation: A goal-oriented, results-driven mindset is critical for success in this position. The ideal candidate takes initiative and has a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed business targets. You should be adept at project management, able to juggle multiple initiatives, and prioritize tasks to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to change are also important.
