We are on the lookout for an experienced Product Managerto join our team and lead the development and management of our consumer discovery products.
At the center of our marketplace is the Discovery organization. This team is currently building Search, Recommendation, and intent collection systems to power our brands like Foodpanda, Glovo, Pedidos Ya, Talabat - serving millions of requests every day. The systems we build are critical for our online marketplaces with high availability and performance requirements and drive meaningful commercial value. They require crafting control loops through data, machine learning, and online serving systems to serve millions of consumers worldwide.
Your mission is to continuously improve how we can help consumers effortlessly and delightfully find & discover what they want. The right candidate will balance pragmatism with innovation and forward-thinking leadership. You will need to deliver business value quickly while investing strategically in capabilities that have longer-term but potentially much higher payoffs. You should be an empathetic listener, capable of understanding and envisioning opportunities with a diverse set of partners.
1. Develop the product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market plan for Discovery Products
2. Define appropriate metrics to measure how effectively we’re meeting each objective and set clear targets to strive for improvement constantly
3. Develop & use well-thought-out decision frameworks to align partner teams and leadership on marketplace growth. Effectively influence your peers & leadership for the best outcome
4. Be the go-to person for questions, clarifications, and direction on Discovery products
5. Develop strong feedback loops with peers leading our portfolio of brands and partner-facing teams
6. Resolve dependencies critical to success and work with your peers in Data Science, Analytics, and other Platform teams across DH to establish effective operating models. Work with Engineering to drive sensible tradeoffs between product and architecture investments
7. Communicate strategy, plan, tradeoffs, and progress through a regular cadence of written and verbal communication to DH's Consumer Leadership team
Qualifications
8. 5+ years of product management experience in an eCommerce or Marketplace setting, experience orchestrating the delivery of value in an enterprise environment where different teams own different systems is a big plus
9. Experience working with a globally distributed team and the ability to manage communications and product delivery across multiple time zones
10. High degree of familiarity with Marketplace principles; proven ability to apply these to improve business results
11. Prior machine learning experience, familiarity with statistical data analytics techniques; experience with end-to-end ML product delivery
12. Experience translating business strategy into a detailed product roadmap, with a measurable, long-term positive impact on business performance
13. Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
14. Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
15. Scientific and data-driven; skilled in defining the right metrics, working effectively with engineers and data scientists and keeping teams motivated and accountable to meet targets.
