HR Business Partner – R&D, Product & Strategy, Operations and Enabling Functions (Europe)
Join Molecular Devices as an HR Business Partner—support life science research across academia, biotech, pharma, and government. As part of a global Human Resources team, you will play a critical role in aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, providing guidance to leaders and driving organizational performance.
This position reports to the Global HR Director, R&D, Product & Strategy, Operations and Enabling Functions, and will be an on-site role at our site in Puch, Austria.
Responsibilities
* Act as a sparring partner to the business aligning regional people practices with the overall global business objectives, leading HR activities at the various business sites and partnering with assigned business unit leaders.
* Define & own actions to proactively support people leaders in workforce planning, organizational design, talent optimization, and staffing plans linked with our Talent Acquisition team to attract diverse profiles.
* Provide day‑to‑day HR guidance to people leaders in talent acquisition, leadership coaching, employee counselling, performance management, career development, change management, compensation, and HR policy guidance and interpretation in line with legal compliance and regulations.
* Proactively partner and collaborate across the global HR organization, sharing information, and providing thought leadership and a solution‑oriented direction to optimize the business value of the HR function.
* Partner with Global HR Centers Of Excellence (COE) on the execution of strategic HR initiatives.
* Drive improvements within your scope to ensure legal compliance while enhancing the experience for employees and people leaders.
* Collaborate with local works councils and employee representations.
Qualifications
* Degree in HR or Business Administration or equivalent, with minimum 5 years of experience as HR Business Partner/Manager in Austria & multi‑countries, supporting global organizations with a focus on HR operations and HR Business partnering, including previous exposure and knowledge of labor laws in various countries, including but not limited to UK, Austria, Germany, and Belgium and utilization of continuous improvement best practices (DBS, Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies).
* Broad understanding of the technical and functional components of human resources, including recruiting, talent management, organizational design/development, succession planning, leadership development, compensation and associate communications.
* Managing change/project initiatives including change management experience in multi‑cultural environment.
* Proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
* German and English language proficiency is a must, additional languages are very welcome especially French.
The collective agreement for employees in the electrical and electronics industry applies to the advertised position, the minimum basic salary is €4,341.85 gross per month with willingness to overpay collective agreement.
