Senior Project Manager – Offshore HV Export Projects
Location: Hamburg (Hybrid with travel)
Language: Proficiency in both German and English is essential.
Turner Lovell are recruiting for an experienced EPC Senior Project Manager to support a global client delivering major energy infrastructure projects across Germany.
This organisation is a leading international EPCI contractor, with a strong track record in transmission, distribution and offshore energy projects, playing a key role in the energy transition.
A rapidly growing EPC/OEM, operating across major offshore transmission and grid infrastructure programmes, is strengthening its European delivery organisation.
Reporting to the European Project Director, you will take full ownership of project delivery, overseeing engineering, manufacturing, the supply chain, logistics, installation and jointing activities. You will build and lead a high-performing team, manage all internal and external interfaces, and ensure excellence in terms of safety, quality, costs, risks and schedules throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful delivery of large-scale EPC projects, ensuring execution aligns with company standards, contractual obligations, HSE requirements, and client expectations
- Define and implement the overall project execution strategy, driving delivery across engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning phases
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional project team within a matrix organisation
- Take ownership of project planning, and oversee the monitoring and control of all internal and external resources to achieve project milestones
- Manage complex interfaces across stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact and escalation for the client
- Drive best practice across cost control, resource efficiency, risk management, and HSE performance
- Monitor and control project financials, ensuring strong cost management, forecasting accuracy, and margin protection
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Engineering (electrical, mechanical or similar) or a related technical discipline
- Proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or energy projects within an EPC/EPCI environment
- Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organisation
- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, cost, schedule, and subcontractor performance
- End-to-end project delivery experience, from engineering through to commissioning
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex project challenges
- Solid commercial and contractual awareness
- High level of commitment, flexibility, and a collaborative, results-driven mindset
- PMP, IPMA or equivalent certification is advantageous
- Fluent in English and German (written and spoken)
- Strong working knowledge of MS Project and MS Office
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
