As a Mechanical Project Buyer, you play a key role in sourcing all mechanical components and assemblies for our development and series production projects at NEURA Robotics. You bring strong expertise in mechanical sourcing and act as a central interface between engineering, suppliers, and production to build a robust and future-proof supply chain. Your main responsibilities include: Independent sourcing of mechanical components and assemblies such as CNC-machined parts, turned and milled components, sheet metal parts, mechanical assemblies, housings, drive components, and precision mechanical parts Identification, selection, and development of suitable suppliers for mechanical components – from specialized manufacturers to international production suppliers Conducting technical and commercial bid comparisons and independently leading price and contract negotiations with a focus on mechanical commodities Close collaboration with mechanical engineering, development, and project teams to ensure component availability throughout the entire product lifecycle – from prototypes to series production Active risk management for mechanical components (e.g., capacity constraints, manufacturing risks, second sources, lifecycle management) Ensuring on-time delivery and monitoring supplier quality, delivery performance, and technical requirements Monitoring and analyzing global sourcing markets and manufacturing technologies in the mechanical field Contributing to the development and optimization of procurement processes, tools, and ERP structures in project purchasing What we can look forward to: Several years of experience in technical purchasing, ideally with a focus on mechanical components or mechanical engineering Strong technical understanding of mechanical parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, turning/milling, sheet metal fabrication, surface treatments, assembly manufacturing) Ability to understand technical requirements, analyze drawings and bills of materials, and communicate effectively with engineering teams Experience in project purchasing, ideally in development and series production environments Strong negotiation skills, assertiveness, and entrepreneurial mindset Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style in a dynamic development environment Experience with ERP systems and a solid understanding of procurement and supply chain processes Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
