PURPOSE
The Account Manager will support the Sales Manager, DACH, in executing sales growth across multiple markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As a key member of the company’s DACH regional sales, service and applications team, the Account Manager will collaborate closely and work proactively to identify and win equipment and aftermarket sales with new customers as well as growing existing and key accounts. The Account Manager will also support the Sales Manager with sales forecasts, business reporting and budgeting processes. From time to time the Account Manager may manage Key Accounts across the DACH region in addition to any prescribed territories. The Account Manager will also take the lead in managing the appointed Distributor in Switzerland, as well as identifying and onboarding any additional channel sales partners.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure the achievement of the sales target for the assigned territories, accounts and products
2. Actively pursue new sales opportunities in differentiated market segments
3. Provide accurate sales forecasting to the Sales Manager and support marketing, promotions, events etc.
4. Keep constant and direct relations with customers providing support and participate in negotiations
5. Interact with customers at all levels, from operators to buyer to general manager providing customised technical solutions
6. Check and coordinate the activities for all assigned customers, constantly monitor the needs of the market and its trend, analyse and inform on the activities of competition and on potential of the company with the prescribed accounts and territories.
7. Prepare and make offers to customers
8. Comprehensively utilise and leverage the company’s CRM system for all sales activity
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
9. Experience (10+ years) in sales activities for industrial products, ideally complex high value capital equipment, with a good overall technical knowledge and team leadership talent / experience.
10. Degree level education, ideally STEM / Engineering.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
11. Previous experience in the Metrology business is a plus; with target industries: AeroSpace and Defence, Bearings, High precision Optics, Precision Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing.
12. Experience in developing and implementing promotional and marketing plans
13. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, internally and externally, at all levels.
14. Fluent English and German
15. Knowledge and experience in the use of CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce or similar)
