Job Description
As a Senior Project Manager within the AC Substations department, this role involves playing a pivotal role in overseeing and delivering complex turnkey projects and electrical packages for high-voltage switchgear and substations across distribution and transmission networks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee projects and ensure alignment with standardized functional specifications and global processes for seamless implementation.
* Lead initiatives to better understand and fulfill customer expectations.
* Manage operational planning and execution, focusing on technical excellence within your discipline.
* Work independently within established guidelines, ensuring thorough review and quality of final deliverables.
You will be responsible for:
* Managing large, complex turnkey EPC projects as a general contractor or within a consortium for electrical substations in distribution and transmission networks up to 420 kV.
* Monitoring project progress and providing direct or indirect leadership of project resources.
* Contributing to strategy development and ensuring successful delivery within your area of responsibility.
* Making sound decisions and solving moderately complex challenges in operations, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
* Preparing comprehensive project management plans.
* Managing project scope, risks, opportunities, and analyzing customer requirements.
* Driving profitability and cash flow optimization throughout all project phases.
* Overseeing all project communications, including client interactions and reporting to management.
* Building team competence and ensuring the right expertise is in place.
* Maintaining compliance with quality procedures and demonstrating EHS leadership.
Your Profile and Experience:
* Extensive experience in project and turnkey project management, ideally in high-voltage substations.
* PMI certification or equivalent.
* Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (with electrical focus), or equivalent.
* Fluency in German and strong English skills.
* Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams with multiple interfaces and a high proportion of local projects.
* Experience in team building and fostering a strong team culture.
* Track record of managing projects with significant financial, technical, and commercial risk.
* Familiarity with P&L objectives.
* Willingness for short- or medium-term assignments at various locations and worldwide travel.
