🔊We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager - Insurance Innovation & Ancillary Products.

Join DiscoverCars.com and help us scale the world's leading global car-rental marketplace. We're seeking a visionary Staff Product Manager to lead our Insurance Innovation & Ancillary Products domain, driving the strategy and execution of innovative products that transform how customers experience peace of mind while travelling. Working at the intersection of our core marketplace and Sincera (our insurance company), you'll pioneer new revenue streams while delivering genuine value that enhances every customer journey.

As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

* Lead Strategic Innovation: Define and execute the product strategy for our insurance and ancillary product ecosystem, identifying opportunities to diversify beyond our current offerings into travel protection, subscription models, roadside assistance, and other value-added services aligned with customer needs and business growth objectives.
* Drive Revenue Growth: Own key business metrics, such as performance of ancillary products, translating insights into actionable product initiatives that deliver measurable commercial impact.
* Champion Customer-Centricity: Conduct deep customer research and data analysis to uncover unmet needs in the travel protection space, designing solutions that genuinely reduce customer anxiety and enhance their travel experience rather than focusing on short-term revenue.
* Collaborate Across Organizations: Work closely with Sincera's insurance experts to evaluate regulatory requirements, product feasibility, and risk management while partnering with DiscoverCars.com's commercial, legal, design, and engineering teams to bring innovative insurance products from concept to market.
* Execute with Excellence: Translate complex insurance concepts and business requirements into clear, actionable product roadmaps, working hands-on with engineering and UX teams to deliver high-quality products that meet both customer expectations and regulatory standards.
* Foster Innovation Culture: Actively mentor and coach other product managers, sharing expertise in ancillary revenue strategies, insurance product development, and data-driven decision making to elevate the entire product organization's capabilities.
* Embrace Emerging Technologies: Leverage AI, machine learning, and other cutting-edge technologies to personalize insurance offerings, optimize pricing strategies, and create more intelligent customer experiences that drive both satisfaction and profitability.
* Navigate Complexity: Balance multiple stakeholder requirements across customer needs, regulatory compliance, supplier relationships, and business objectives while maintaining focus on delivering incremental, measurable improvements in a fast-paced environment.

You will be a great asset for this role if you have these qualities:

* Strategic Product Leadership: 6+ years of senior product management experience with a demonstrated track record of building and scaling ancillary revenue products, preferably in travel, marketplace, fintech, or insurance environments.
* Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to identify, validate, and monetize new business opportunities, with experience optimizing key metrics like attach rates, ARPB, and customer lifetime value in growth-oriented companies.
* Data-Driven Excellence: Advanced analytical skills including proficiency with SQL, analytics platforms, and A/B testing methodologies, with ability to translate complex data insights into actionable product decisions and compelling stakeholder narratives.
* Customer Empathy: Strong user research and discovery skills, with demonstrated ability to understand customer pain points and translate them into innovative product solutions that drive both satisfaction and business results.
* Execution Focus: Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working in agile environments and managing complex product roadmaps involving multiple engineering, design, and business teams.
* Communication Leadership: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders, aligning cross-functional teams, and clearly articulating complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
* Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of compliance requirements in regulated industries, with the ability to work effectively with legal and risk teams to ensure product solutions meet necessary standards.

Nice-to-have:

* Insurance/Fintech Experience: Background in insurance product development, subscription models, or financial services, with understanding of underwriting, claims processes, and regulatory frameworks.
* Marketplace Expertise: Experience building ancillary products in two-sided marketplaces or travel platforms, with an understanding of supplier relationships and multi-stakeholder product dynamics.
* Technical Depth: Comfort with API integrations, payment systems, and complex technical architectures that support insurance and subscription products.
* Growth Mindset: Enthusiasm for emerging technologies, including AI/ML applications in personalization, pricing optimization, and customer experience enhancement.
* International Experience: Familiarity with multi-market product development, including understanding of regional regulatory differences and localization requirements.
* Mentorship Experience: Previous experience coaching junior product managers or contributing to product organization development and best practices.

In return, we offer the following:

* Competitive salary starting from €3500 gross.
* Strategic Impact: Lead high-visibility initiatives that directly contribute to our ambitious growth targets and shape the future of travel protection products.
* A culture that encourages initiative, creative thinking, and the opportunity to drive meaningful change in a fast-moving, supportive team.
* 8 hours of paid self-development time each month, post-probation.
* Professional training programs to develop your expertise in product management, insurance innovation, and emerging technologies.
* Work in an international, multicultural team of 38 nationalities in a dynamic environment.
* Flexible working arrangements with preference for candidates in Riga, but open to remote work with periodic office visits.
* Department-level team buildings and full-company events like our Winter Ball and Summer Festival.

* For our colleagues at the Riga office:
* Paid health insurance after a successful probation period.
* Fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy snacks are available every Tuesday and Thursday.
* Dedicated relaxation spaces, including a yoga room, massage chair, and a cozy chill-out area with bean bags.
* Fully equipped game rooms with air hockey, table football, board games, and chess.
* Fully equipped kitchens stocked with unlimited tea, coffee, hot chocolate, syrups, and muesli for your breakfast.
* A modern, well-maintained office just 10 minutes from Riga city center.
* Shower facilities are available for those who cycle to work.
* Festive masterclasses and office celebrations for Easter, Christmas, Midsummer, and other holidays.
* Special recognition on every work anniversary.
* Christmas gifts for you and your children.
* Exclusive car rental rates for yourself, your family, and your friends.
