Project Manager (m/w/d) – Railway Project Management
Ref. No. R – Full‑time or part‑time in our project office in Essen.
Responsibilities
As a Project Manager (m/w/d) you steer customer projects commercially, especially for Deutsche Bahn and other railway operators, from planning to successful commissioning. You apply modern project management methods, take technical leadership of cross‑location teams, and coordinate all project participants.
* Take responsibility for cost, schedule and quality, keeping all aspects under control.
* Serve as the central contact for customers and internal teams such as sales, contract management, technical design, and assembly.
* Plan and monitor costs, dates and risks; manage all commercial aspects.
* Ensure contractual compliance, maintain customer satisfaction and safeguard economic profitability.
* Co‑ordinate activities during the proposal phase; advise sales and bidding teams, produce internal and external management reporting, and manage amendments for clients.
Qualifications
* Successful university degree in business economics, business administration, industrial engineering or comparable field, ideally with a focus on project management.
* Solid experience in leading customer‑focused, complex projects; certifications such as IPMA Level C are a plus.
* Preferably experience in railway signalling and safety technology.
* Strong team leadership for self‑organised teams; capable of taking responsibility.
* Clear and decisive communication; ability to keep all stakeholders informed and represent projects internally and externally.
* Fluent in German and willing to travel nationally for customer visits and site inspections.
