About the Role
The Accounting and Finance Project Manager (m/f/d) will oversee all accounting and reporting activities for our manufacturing facilities in Wetzlar and Mannheim. You will lead projects aimed at improving compliance in finance processes and increasing the efficiency of accounting operations across Europe.
This position reports to the Director of Finance EMEA and is part of the Finance Service Center Europe located in Wetzlar, Germany. Please note that this is an on-site role.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Leading month-end closing activities, including journal entries preparation and account reconciliation.
* Preparing financial statements for corporate reporting and yearly local statutory accounts.
* Developing standard tools and processes to enhance compliance with internal control requirements.
* Leading the integration of accounting activities from new acquisitions into the Finance Service Center Europe.
* Driving finance system improvement actions to streamline accounting operations.
Essential Requirements:
* Certified financial accountant with solid knowledge of local German accounting principles (HGB) or equivalent education (Master’s degree in Finance & Accounting).
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting with general ledger responsibility in an international corporate environment.
* Experience managing external and internal finance audit processes.
* Active contribution to finance projects, ideally with significant implications for IT systems or experience as a key user for the finance module of an ERP.
* Fluency in both German and English.
It Would Be a Plus If You Also Possess:
* Experience using SAP as an ERP system.
* Knowledge of US GAAP accounting norms and SOX internal control processes.
