Overview
Our client is a major international organisation operating across multiple European countries, delivering large-scale services in areas such as public administration, defence, space, and international programmes. With tens of thousands of staff and hundreds of ongoing projects, they are undergoing a significant period of digital growth and transformation.
As part of their Data, Digital & Technology function, you will join a high-impact team responsible for driving complex IT and digital change across multiple business units and geographies. This environment is fast-moving, collaborative, and ideal for an experienced Project Manager who enjoys delivering meaningful, large-scale transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Governance
* Manage and deliver IT/digital projects and workstreams across scope, requirements, time, cost, quality, risk, and benefits.
* Lead mixed teams of internal staff and external suppliers across organisational and geographical boundaries.
* Ensure all team members have sufficient skills, capacity, and clarity to deliver expected outcomes.
* Apply strong change control, proactively managing variances in scope, time, cost, or quality.
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies using tools such as JIRA.
* Monitor and report project status to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Proactively engage key stakeholders including business users, IT specialists, SMEs, architects, and suppliers.
* Facilitate effective decision-making and ensure expectations are aligned across business and technical teams.
* Prepare and support senior management presentations and decision materials.
Collaboration & Planning
* Align project methodologies and collaboration approaches to the needs of the team and business.
* Identify synergies and dependencies across parallel transformation initiatives.
* Monitor supplier performance and project costs versus budget.
* Drive adherence to governance, compliance, and internal standards.
* Facilitate and document workshops, steering groups, and technical alignment sessions.
Candidate Profile
Technical & Delivery Background
* Strong IT background with demonstrable experience delivering large, complex transformation projects.
* Affinity with one or more of the following:
o Cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
o M365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, etc.)
o Digital platforms and applications
o Infrastructure, data management, and interfaces
* Experience in at least one of the following areas is highly desirable:
o Cloud transformation (e.g., on-prem to Azure)
o Identity, mail, or device migrations
o Fileserver-to-SharePoint migrations
o IT system implementations (e.g., ticketing or service management tools)
Project & People Skills
* Strong project management fundamentals across both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
* Comfortable managing distributed teams and third-party suppliers.
* Mature stakeholder management style with experience engaging up to C-level.
* Hands-on team leader with a structured, autonomous working style.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
* Experience with organisational change and adoption activities is a strong advantage.
Additional Requirements
* Educated to degree level with a continuous learning mindset.
* Native or C1 German language proficiency.
* Fluency in English.
* Experience with ITIL, service management, or consultancy environments is an advantage.
