We are now looking for a driven Product Manager – Energy Storage to own our BESS product line in EMEA.
The Role
🌱As Product Manager, you will define and drive the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle for our energy storage portfolio. You will sit at the intersection of customers, sales, engineering, and operations—translating market needs into winning products and ensuring successful go-to-market execution. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role where your decisions directly shape the products that power the grid of tomorrow.
What You'll Do
🔹 Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and communicate a clear product vision and multi-generation roadmap for BESS products, grounded in market analysis, customer insights, competitive intelligence, and regional regulatory/policy trends.
🔹Voice of Customer & Requirements: Engage deeply with IPPs, developers, EPCs, and utilities to capture their evolving needs. Author market requirements documents (MRD) and product requirements documents (PRD) with detailed functional, technical, and commercial specifications.
🔹Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and align R&D, hardware, firmware, EMS/BMS, procurement, and quality teams in China/headquarters and regional hubs to deliver products on spec, on time, and on budget. Drive trade-off decisions across performance, cost, and schedule.
🔹Go-to-Market & Sales Enablement: Partner with marketing, sales, and application engineering teams to create launch plans, sales tools, technical collaterals (datasheets, white papers, competitive comparisons), and deliver product training.
🔹Product Lifecycle Management: Own product performance metrics (revenue, margin, quality, reliability). Manage engineering changes, cost reduction initiatives, certification roadmaps (UL, IEC, CE, grid codes), and end-of-life transitions.
🔹Competitive & Market Intelligence: Continuously analyze the competitive landscape, technology trends, and market dynamics. Synthesize insights into actionable product positioning and pricing strategies.
What You'll Bring
✅ Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field. An MBA or MS is a strong plus.
✅ Experience: 5+ years of product management, solutions architecture, or technical marketing experience in the energy storage, solar inverter, power conversion, or renewable energy industry.
✅ Technical Depth: Solid understanding of BESS system architecture—lithium-ion batteries, PCS, transformers, thermal management, BMS, EMS, and communication protocols (Modbus, CAN, DNP3, IEC 61850).
✅ Business Acumen: Proven ability to build business cases, analyze market segments, and balance technical ambition with commercial viability.
✅ Communication: Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills in English. [Mandarin / German ] language skills are highly valued given close collaboration with global teams.
✅ Mindset: Structured thinker, self-starter, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and passionate about the clean energy transition.
✅ Travel: Willingness to travel up to 20–30% for customer visits, site inspections, and team workshops.
