Marine Underwriter
We are seeking a Marine Underwriter to join our team in executing the marine underwriting strategy within a specific geographical area. This role will involve responsible leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with various functions.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Executing the marine underwriting strategy and maintaining governance guidelines and technical audits worldwide.
* Remaining up-to-date on referral underwriting and strategy deviations, monitoring and analyzing amounts/reasons.
* Overseeing local portfolio steering and promoting collaboration between home office, local entities, and other functions.
* Supporting the up-skilling of underwriting staff.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A completed training in insurance and finance, or further training as an insurance specialist or business administration/law studies.
* Experience in underwriting marine insurance, especially industrial risks, is desirable.
* Strong communication skills for conducting talks and negotiations.
* Fluent written and spoken English, other foreign languages welcome.
* Willingness to travel within and outside Europe.
