Responsibilities:
1. Scout emerging technologies in AI, design automation, mechanical engineering, and simulation
2. Develop prototypes and PoCs (e.g. neural networks, surrogate models,agentic workflows, LLM‑based engineering assistants)
3. Develop AI‑driven (digital twin / hybrid) models for condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and lifecycle optimization by integrating sensor data, simulation results, and engineering domainknowledge
4. Conductapplied research: formulatehypotheses, train models, validate results, andanalyzedata.
5. Transfer research intorobust, scalablesolutions for engineering and operations
6. Collaborate closely with engineering and product development teams in DE/USA
7. Document results and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
8. After a three-year program in Weinheim, transfer to our Wolfratshausen location – with a focus on the application and scaling of AI-supported engineering solutions in the area ofR&D
Qualifications:
9. Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computational sciences, physics, materials, or related fields
10. Experience in applied research or industrial development
11. Skills in at least two areas: neural networks,GenAI/LLMs & agentic systems, surrogate models, data analytics, simulation (FEM/CFD),MLOps or platform development
12. Strong programming skills (Python)
13. Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow; familiarity with GenAI tooling (e.g., LangChain) is aplus
14. Ability to communicate complex topics clearly in English/German; collaborative working style
