We are looking for a Buyer (m/f/d) to join our global Supply Chain Management team. The Buyer is responsible for executing tactical purchasing activities to ensure adequate inventory levels of cannabis materials, packaging components, and indirect goods required to support manufacturing operations. This position manages day-to-day procurement processes, including issuing purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance, and maintaining compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs). The Buyer plays a critical role in sustaining operational continuity through effective vendor management, timely replenishment, and adherence to quality and cost objectives. Success in this role will be driven by strong relationship management, analytical capability, and a focus on continuous process improvement. Responsibilities Tactically execute purchase orders to replenish cannabis and packaging in addition to indirect goods and services to optimize facility operations. Issue purchase orders to suppliers with accurate vendor, product, and cost information. Maintain inventory levels within min / max targets set by Sr. Buyer. Ensure supplier compliance on KPIs (fill rate, on time delivery and PO order lead times). Immediately resolve purchase order discrepancies. Escalate and obtain resolution on supplier quality related incidents in a timely fashion. Resolve issues related to supplier non-compliance on warehouse receiving paperwork. Tracks spend approvals for all purchase order ensuring alignment with DOA (delegation of authority) matrix. Expedite purchase orders as necessary to meet scheduling and product launch requirements. Communicate order status exceptions, contract obligations, and post-receipt actions to all internal cross functional stakeholders. Ensure optimized purchase order management which supports production schedules, suppliers’ price break points and storage restrictions. Strategically engage with supplier community and internal stakeholders. Demonstrate excellent conflict resolution skills. Identify and resolve risks to supply continuity. Build and support strong long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Identify waste and seek opportunities for cost reduction in the supply chain. Provide ad hoc reports as required. Work cross-functionally with commercial, operations & QA to source and develop new materials sources. This will include coordinating both the product qualifications & vendor set up activity. Ensuring all cross functional team needs are recognized and met. Culture Building Work in a customer centric manner Represent the company positively and with integrity Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; professional certifications (SCMP, CIPS, CPIM, CPSM) are preferred. Minimum of 3 years of procurement experience, preferably within the cannabis industry. Experience in a production or manufacturing environment is an asset. Proficiency with ERP systems (Sage X3 preferred) and familiarity with analytical tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong organizational, analytical, and time management abilities; capable of operating independently with minimal supervision. Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners. Fluency in German (written and spoken) is required.
