Tier 1 Main Contractor | Hyperscale & Colocation Data Centres
A leading Tier 1 Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to support the delivery of major hyperscale and colocation Data Centre projects across Europe initially based in Frankfurt, Germany. This is a permanent position with a secured pipeline of works for the next 5+ years, offering long-term career stability in a rapidly expanding sector.
You will work on technically complex, fast-track electrical packages typically valued between €30m and €150m+, delivering mission-critical infrastructure to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

The Role:
As Electrical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of electrical systems on large-scale Data Centre projects, from pre-construction through commissioning and handover. You will work closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, M&E teams, designers, and specialist subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with stringent Data Centre requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Project Manager
* Take full responsibility for the delivery of large-scale electrical packages on Data Centre projects
* Manage electrical works from pre-construction, procurement, and installation through to commissioning and handover
* Coordinate electrical design development with consultants and specialist subcontractors
* Oversee critical systems including:
* HV & LV power distribution
* UPS systems and battery storage
* Standby generators and fuel systems
* BMS / EPMS
* Lighting, small power, and containment
* Develop and manage electrical programmes, budgets, and forecasts
* Procure, manage, and coordinate electrical subcontractors and suppliers
* Review and approve technical submissions, RAMS, and method statements
* Monitor progress and manage change, variations, and risk
* Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, quality standards, and project specifications
* Lead inspections, testing, snagging, and commissioning activities
* Coordinate integrated systems testing (IST) and client witness testing
* Manage handover documentation including O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and test certification
* Act as the primary point of contact for electrical matters with clients and consultants
* Support and mentor Site Engineers and junior project staff
Necessary Requirements of the Electrical Project Manager
* Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline
* 7+ years’ experience delivering electrical packages within main contracting or specialist M&E contracting.
* Strong Data Centre, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical project experience
* Proven experience managing large electrical packages (€20m+)
* Strong technical knowledge of critical power and resilient electrical systems
* Experience working in fast-track, design-and-build environments
* Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
* Willingness to travel or be based on European project sites
* EU passport or unrestricted right to work across the EU
