Senior Project Manager – Power Generation (CCGT/CCPP)
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) / Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) projects or large-scale power generation facilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical understanding, proven leadership, and the ability to drive complex, multi-stakeholder energy projects to successful completion. German language proficiency is essential for effective communication with local partners, regulatory bodies, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end project management for large CCGT/CCPP or major power generation projects, from conception through commissioning.
* Manage project scope, scheduling, cost control, risk management, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and external consultants.
* Ensure compliance with local regulations, permitting requirements, HSE standards, and industry best practices.
* Develop, review, and negotiate technical specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
* Establish strong working relationships with local authorities, utilities, contractors, and technology providers.
* Provide leadership in identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Oversee project reporting, KPIs, and performance reviews for senior leadership.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Power, or related field).
* Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in large-scale power generation projects, ideally CCGT,CCPP or CHP.
* Strong technical knowledge of power plant systems, EPC processes, grid integration, and commissioning activities.
* Fluent German language skills (native or near-native level) required; English proficiency also essential.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-value industrial projects (typically €100M+).
* Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Project Management certification (PMP, IPMA, PRINCE2) is advantageous.
Preferred Attributes
* Experience working with international EPC contractors or OEMs.
* Familiarity with local German permitting and energy regulations (beneficial but not mandatory).
* Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate under pressure and tight deadlines.
