The Chair of Laser Technology LLT at RWTH Aachen University, together with the cooperating Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, is Europe's leading centre for basic and contract research in the field of laser technology. In close co-operation with partners from industry and research, the Fraunhofer ILT is working, among other things, on the further development of the additive manufacturing process Laser Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB/M). With PBF-LB/M, metallic components with almost any complex geometry can be additively manufactured using a layer-by-layer structure. The versatile range of applications includes components in the automotive industry, aerospace and medical technology.

* You will develop customised solutions by adapting the pore structure in all three spatial dimensions
* In your work, you will investigate the generation of statistically distributed microporosity for specific components
What you contribute
* You are a student of industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable engineering degree programme
* You enjoy working independently and on your own responsibility
* Initial knowledge of materials science and design theory is an advantage for you
* Good German and English skills are essential for communication within the team and with international partners
