Location: Halle or Berlin (Hybrid)
Salary: Competitive
Company Summary:
A growing mid‑sized, international engineering organisation is seeking a proactive and analytical Production Planner to join their team in Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of planning activities for complex installation projects, supporting cross‑functional alignment and contributing to operational excellence.
This role requires a strong communicator who is flexible, curious, and unafraid to challenge existing processes. You will play a key role in coordinating suppliers, steering order‑driven planning activities, and contributing to the digital evolution of the planning function within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
About the Role:
As the Production Planner, you will support installation projects for specialised screw‑compressor systems, managing planning activities triggered by sales orders and ensuring lead‑time accuracy from order intake through execution. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations while managing multiple projects and suppliers simultaneously.
This position offers the opportunity to refine planning processes, support digital transformation efforts, and strengthen cross‑functional coordination in a company with a start‑up‑like culture.
The Production Planner will be responsible for:
* Planning all activities derived from sales orders with a strong focus on lead times.
* Creating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and managing supporting data once orders are received.
* Managing a portfolio of 10-15 suppliers and coordinating 2-3 installation projects at the same time.
* Ensuring alignment across functions and fine‑tuning processes as issues arise.
* Steering project‑related data and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.
* Supporting planning processes that are currently Excel‑based, while using PSI Penta and preparing for a future SAP implementation in 2-3 years.
* Identifying and questioning outdated processes to drive continuous improvement.
* Facilitating strong cross‑functional communication to enable efficient project execution.
* Travelling between Halle and Berlin as needed based on project requirements.
The Production Planner should have the following qualifications:
* Strong communication skills with a flexible, proactive, and improvement‑oriented mindset.
* A willingness to challenge the status quo rather than follow processes blindly.
* Interest in AI, automation, and digital solutions (advantageous but not required).
* Experience in machinery, manufacturing, automotive, or similar technical environments.
* Experience level is open - suitable for both early‑career candidates and those with experience (training is provided regardless).
* Fluent in German and English.
