We are looking for a highly motivated Product Manager to join our Global Power Electronics team.
Based in Aachen, Germany, this role is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and successful commercialization of product initiatives across our Drives and Power Electronics platforms.
As Product Manager for assigned platforms, you will define and execute product strategy and lifecycle management, acting as the central point of coordination across Engineering, Portfolio Marketing, Sales, and other key functions. You will translate market strategy into winning product plans, ensuring roadmap execution, strong financial performance, and delivery of customer-focused solutions.
Success in this role will be measured through revenue growth, profitability, market share gains, roadmap execution, and return on investment for new product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
* Own the full product lifecycle for assigned Drives/Power Electronics platform products, from ideation and concept development through commercialization, obsolescence, and aftermarket support.
* Define and execute a 5-year product roadmap aligned with business and market strategy, ensuring delivery of key growth initiatives.
* Own product P&L performance, including revenue, margin, pricing strategy, cost optimization, and ROI delivery.
* Develop robust business cases for new product investments and ensure successful realization of planned outcomes.
* Translate market strategy into actionable product strategy in close collaboration with Market Managers, Portfolio Marketing, and Engineering.
* Lead prioritization of new product development (NPD) and lifecycle initiatives based on business opportunities, customer needs, and competitive threats.
* Develop clear product value propositions, positioning, and pricing strategies for assigned platforms and solutions.
* Conduct ongoing analysis of industry trends, customer requirements, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.
* Act as platform expert for internal stakeholders and customers, supporting Sales with product introductions and customer engagements.
* Gather and leverage Voice of Customer (VoC) insights to drive product improvements and innovation.
* Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure effective development, launch readiness, and lifecycle execution.
* Support Portfolio Marketing with go-to-market strategy, messaging, content, and launch execution.
* Drive alignment and coordination across global cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of product initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
* Proven experience in Product Management within industrial, drives, power electronics, or related technical environments.
* Demonstrated experience managing product P&L and delivering revenue and profitability targets.
* Experience defining and executing multi-year product roadmaps and lifecycle strategies.
* Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and new product development (NPD) processes.
* Experience conducting market analysis, segmentation, demand planning, and competitive benchmarking.
* Strong technical acumen and ability to work effectively with engineering teams.
* Experience working cross-functionally in a global, matrix organization.
* Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and business case development skills.
* Strong communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
* Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or related discipline.
* Experience managing global product portfolios or platform-based product strategies.
* Experience within Drives, Power Electronics, HVAC, industrial automation, or related sectors.
* Demonstrated success delivering product growth, market share gains, and ROI on product investments.
* Experience supporting product launches and go-to-market strategy execution.
* Strong understanding of commercial segmentation, customer applications, and buying behaviors.
* Experience with portfolio optimization, bundle strategies, and cross-sell initiatives.
* Familiarity with global manufacturing, supply chain, and cost optimization considerations.
