Our client is a leading global freight forwarding and logistics provider with an established presence across Europe. Known for delivering tailored supply chain solutions, they are seeking an experienced Sea Freight Operations Account Manager to join their Hamburg team. This role will focus on managing export operations and key customer accounts within the automotive sector.
Role Overview
As a Sea Freight Operations Account Manager, you will be the main point of contact for key automotive clients ensuring smooth coordination of sea freight export shipments from start to finish. You will oversee operational processes, maintain strong customer relationships, and drive service excellence while working closely with internal teams and overseas offices.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage full operational cycle for sea freight export shipments within the automotive industry (FCL & LCL).
* Act as primary point of contact for key customers, handling day-to-day queries and providing proactive updates.
* Coordinate bookings, documentation, customs clearance, and transport requirements.
* Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any service issues promptly.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for service improvements and growth.
* Collaborate with internal teams, carriers, and overseas agents to deliver seamless customer service.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and customer SOPs.
* Provide regular reporting and KPIs to customers and management.
Requirements
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in sea freight export operations, ideally with focus on the automotive industry.
* Strong operational knowledge of international sea freight processes and documentation.
* Excellent customer service and account management skills.
* Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
* Proficiency in freight forwarding systems and MS Office.
* Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Team player with proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
