Position: Category Manager
Location: Erkrath, Germany
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and strategic Category Manager to join our high-performing team. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in accelerating our business growth by crafting channel strategies and delivering customer-centric solutions for our categories. This is a unique opportunity to lead a talented team and collaborate closely with dynamic sales and marketing colleagues.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and inspire a talented team to achieve excellence.
2. Drive profitable growth by supporting the annual sales plan and commercial effectiveness initiatives.
3. Own the Category Management process, from strategy to execution.
4. Lead commercially our business based on CM principles while implementing our brand strategies to our key customers.
5. Drive clearer mid-term channel and category strategies and ensure close and fast follow-up with the broader sales team.
6. Have a deep understanding of our key customers and how to lead them based on category management insides.
7. Transfer winning brand strategies to winning commercial category & channel strategies.
8. Deliver actionable insights through regular category analysis—sales trends, market share, pricing, promotions, and more.
9. Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute winning commercial plans for all brand strategies.
Experience you’ll bring:
10. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics or related field.
11. 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the FMCG sector.
12. In depth knowledge of the DACH trade environment within FMCG.
13. Experience working in a multinational, matrixed organization.
14. Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail with deep CM knowledge
15. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
16. Proficiency in Nielsen data analysis.
