Senior Internal Audit Manager EU Location: Hybrid working at our office in Wiesbaden Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive We are activity recruiting for a Senior Internal Audit Manager to be based Wiesbaden office based in Germany. Travel to other European offices will be required. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed Internal Audit function at D&G and play a pivotal role in strengthening governance, customer outcomes, and control effectiveness across the Group. You will oversee, and on occasion undertake, end to end risk‑based audits across D&G’s entities and markets, with a particular focus on continental Europe (e.g. Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal). You will also be responsible for engaging with senior stakeholders across Europe on a regular basis and be part of the Internal Audit Leadership team Key responsibilities: Lead and perform risk-based audit work, from scoping the audit, detailed testing and reporting the results. Present audit results to senior management and provide guidance and advice to senior management in developing of their action plans and associated due dates. Oversee and perform the follow up of audit remediation. Contribute to the annual audit plan, including risk assessment input. Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders. Promote continuous improvement in audit practices and methodology. Mentor, coach, and support the development of audit team members. Drive and develop continuous monitoring initiatives across the function. Ensure adherence to the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Internal Audit Standards and local regulatory requirements. Key skills: You will need to have strong knowledge of EU regulatory environments, and deep understanding of BaFin requirements You should be fluent German and English, with other European languages an advantage. The role holder will need to have an in-depth knowledge of the Institute of Internal Auditors Global Standards, BaFin MaGo, German Act of Supervision of Insurance Undertakings, EIOPA Guidelines on System of Governance and Solvency II regulatory requirements. Understanding and knowledge or DORA is an advantage. The role holder needs to have an analytical mind and the ability to interact with individuals across all levels of an organisation. They will need to be able to have attention to detail skills where they can identify and evaluate potential risks to an organisation. Ideally the person would have a track record of delivering end to end audits and advisory work. Comfortable of delivering key results to senior leadership. Clear communication skills and able to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on audit matters. Capable of mentoring and coaching junior auditors. A high level of statistical competency is required. Experience in audit remediation and experience with inputting into annual audit plans. Insurance industry experience is required.
